We’d like to introduce the Beauty Crazed team! Their catchy and fun tag-line is “We Have Problems with Restraint”. These two Canadian fashion bloggers were recently named one of the Top Canadian Style Blogs by ElleCanada.com and Medium Magazine once named them their blogger of the week!
FumezzLife: Fumezz has problems with restraints too! Would you be so kind as to elaborate on what this means to you?
Lisamarie: It means we both have far too much of whatever our particular passion is – for me that means I have so much makeup skin care and hair care products that I couldn’t use it all in this lifetime. Christelle’s weakness is shoes and lingerie – she pretends she limits herself, but she’s lying. As for restraints, I am positive that Christelle will get in a brawl at a shoe sale any day now and get taken away in them…I won’t be bailing her out too quickly either.
FumezzLife: We know you’re Beauty Crazed, what got you this way/interested, a little background information please?
Lisamarie: I’m not sure how my obsession started, I remember as a little girl sneaking into my mom’s makeup drawer and trying on her lipsticks and powder but she wasn’t a big beauty junkie by any means. I do remember thinking when I was young that being a makeup lady at one of The Bay counters would be the ideal job!
Beauty Crazed is now an excellent explanation for my plethora of products, if anyone says anything I can just say that it’s all for the blog!
FumezzLife: What’s the most fun/interesting aspect about what you do i.e. Fashion, make-up, skincare, gender specifics? It’s ok to be biased, we won’t judge!
Lisamarie: I know for Christelle it’s actually about being all judgey – I’m sure you’ve seen her posts bashing celebrity fashion – she just loves that! I think it makes her feel better about her own sad style (but don’t tell her I said that)!
FumezzLife: This may be a little difficult but B-E-A-U-T-Y…..is it all it’s cracked up to be or is main stream/general public just not taking advantage of this necessity?
Lisamarie: As much as I love the beauty industry, it’s also a double edged sword. Companies would like you to think that you need all this shit or you won’t live up to society’s standard of what beauty is, which is sadly kind of true. And since no one except supermodels being airbrushed all to hell can actually look like what we see in magazines and on tv, we just end up feeling badly about ourselves.
I occasionally force myself to go out on a Saturday not wearing any makeup just to prove that small children will not run screaming at the sight of me au naturel.
Unfortunately, Christelle can’t do the same, children scream, car alarms go off, dogs bark – it’s a real problem…
FumezzLife: What’s the craziest statement you’ve heard about all things beautiful (fashion, life, products, body, skincare) and what’s your response, whether for or against?
Lisamarie: I love when fashionistas get all horrified at people wearing last years – shoes, bag, clothes, whatever. I just can’t imagine how out of touch you have to be to realize that most people can’t afford to totally overhaul their wardrobe each and every season! I am typing this wearing a top I bought 4 years ago and pants I bought 2 years ago, I think even my underwear are more than a season old!
FumezzLife: So! We couldn’t help but ask, you’re getting recognition for your work, can we expect a Beauty Crazed product line….say pretty soon or in the future?
Lisamarie: Nobody’s offered but I’m down with the idea if anyone out there wants to launch us!
FumezzLife: The industry reaches so far and wide how do you narrow down your topics?
Lisamarie: We don’t really which is why we post so much – there is just so much out there that I’m sure we don’t even cover 10% of what’s going on, but dammit, we try!
A big thank you to Lisamarie and her partner in Beauty Christelle
Check out them out at Beatuy Crazed
